Container cargo movement Volume of container cargo movement from Asia to the United States in September 2014 amounted to 1.353million TEU(Preliminary), a 7.4 percent increase from the previous year.

Courtesy Call by Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI) Mr.Heng Chiang Gnee, Executive Dorector of SMI and scholars from National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Polytechnic, and Ngee Ann Polytechnic have paid a courtesy call on President Masuno of the JMC.
They exchanged information on research activities of each institution with the members of Planning & Research Department of JMC. They also visited our Maritime Library. download

Courtesy Call by WMU Mr. Obata, Chairperson of JMC, received a courtesy call by Prof. Neil A. Belle Fontaine, Acting President of World Maritime University (WMU) in Sweden. Prof. Fontaine explained the current situation of WMU, including its ongoing relocation project. They also talked about the further cooperation in the field of maritime research activities based on the “General Memorandum for Academic Co-operation” signed by the two sides in 2013.
